For all the Mommies

This is for all the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up barf laced with Oscar Mayer wieners and cherry Kool-Aid saying, "It's OK honey, Mommy's here." when they keep crying and won't stop.

This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse.

For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies and sew Halloween costumes. And all the mothers who DON'T.

This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and gave them homes.

This is for all the mothers who froze their buns off on metal bleachers at football or soccer games Friday night instead of watching from cars,so that when their kids asked, "Did you see me?" they could say, "Of course, I wouldn't have missed it for the World," and mean it.

This is for all the mothers who yell at their kids in the grocery store and swat them in despair when they stomp their feet like a tired 2-year old who wants ice cream before dinner.

This is for all the mothers who sat down with their children and explained all about making babies. And for all the mothers who wanted to but just couldn't. For all the mothers who read "Goodnight, Moon" twice a night for a year, and then read it again. "Just one more time."

This is for all the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoelaces before they started school. And for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead. This is for all the mothers who teach their sons to cook and their daughters to sink a jump shot.

This is for all mothers whose heads turn automatically when a little voice calls " Mom ?" in a crowd, even though they know their own off spring are at home.

This is for all the mothers who sent their kids to school with stomach aches, assuring them they'd be just FINE once they got there, only to get calls from the school nurse an hour later asking them to please pick them up right away.

This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who can't find the words to reach them.

For all the mothers who bite their lips sometimes until they bleed--when their 14 year olds dye their hair green.

What makes a good Mother anyway? Is it patience? Compassion? Broad hips? The ability to nurse a baby, cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same time?

Or is it heart? Is it the ache you feel when you watch your son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time?

The jolt that takes you from sleep to dread, from bed to crib 2 A.M. to put your hand on the back of a sleeping baby?

The need to flee from wherever you are and hug your child when you hear news of a fire, a car accident, a child dying? For all the mothers of the victims of all these school shootings, and the mothers of those who did the shooting. For the mothers of the Survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came home from school safely.

This is for mothers who put pinwheels and teddy bears on their children's graves.

This is for young mothers stumbling through diaper changes and sleep deprivation. And mature mothers learning to let go.

For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers. Single mothers and married Mothers. Mothers with money, mothers without.

This is for you all. So hang in there. Please pass along to all the Moms in your life. "Home is what catches you when you fall - and we all fall."

Please pass this to a wonderful mother you know.

NSD!

Whew its over and i have a headache and hole in my pocket. Until today ive been basically scarppin with freebies but now i 200 dollars worth of stuff. WOW Miss Mint (peppermintcreative.com) just came out with a ton of new products PLUS a freebie kit! Along with that shabbyprincess.com released a new kit that supports the March of Dimes. How cool is that? You get a brand new kit and support premature babies. Can it get any better? Im also in the hot seat at TMS so come on over and hit me up with some questions don’t be shy I don’t bite(usually…). Also this week I have had a concrete block in my head which has blocked my creativity and im happy to announce it left last night! With a few inspiration layouts from scrap artist it came back in one piece.:)

I cant believe the twins will be two on thursday seems like yesterday they made a huge unexpected entrance into this big world. Wow does time fly fast….. I couldn’t even imagine where they would be then and now... *sigh* just another year older and wiser i guess. Now for some Layouts:

Minty Mint Day

Have you all seen the new Paper Pack Miss Mint has put out? Seriously the cutest thing on this planet cant wait to see what she adds later this month. www.peppermintcreative.com

I took a half day today and the kids and I went to a nearby river to jump in puddles, we had a total blast and I think I got a few good shots ill upload tomorrow. Totally something to look forward to. Check out The Mommys Spot for a great new digital challenge, this week it’s a scrap lift and for participating you get a FREE kit that’s right a FREE kit! There’s a catch you must be a mother to join this wonderful message board please stick around with us even if you complete the challenge.

I have also found a new addiction amazon.com! I just read an interesting article about IQ’s and reading to young children so of course I had to order new books. lol One book I saw was just adorable and had to share it with other mothers out there its called Someday by Alison McGhee read the reviews, I cant wait for it to arrive. Another book I saw for myself was Thanks to You: Wisdom From Mother to Child

My kids are in desperate and I mean desperate need of swimsuits so I was trying to find one that will last the summer and hold up. I went crazy on onestepahead.com today and my kids are decked out for the sun… I got all of the kids three bathing suits since we are planning a trip to Hawaii. Along with that I got three swim shoes, cover ups, rash guards, hats, sunglasses. I know a bit overboard but oh well ig to a raise last week….. lol

Manic Monday

You all remember “Manic Monday” by the Bangels? Well its just another Manic Monday today! This week I think is going to be a longer one my class was unusually louder then usual and you know the end of the year is going at us full speed ahead and I have 18 lil ones to get ready for the first grade. Not only were they hyper but my own children are bouncing (literally) off my walls. To give you a visual I attempted to take a few snapshots and they were all blurry because they were moving so fast. Amazing how one day makes kids go from calm to happy. Heres a snippit of a conversation that Yasmine and I had:

Me: Can I have a kiss

Yasmine: No!

Me: please I need to put them in a kissing bank so when you get old and really wont kiss me I have some stored up.

Yasmine: I wont grow old mama…

Me: Don’t you want to be big…?

Yasmine: No ill stay small. Ok 5 kissies

Me: thanks swee….*starts to kiss me repeatedly*
